Question: 37My blood pressure is 153/113 and has been consistently high (usually around 165/122) for at least a week. I am on hctz 25mg once a day, metoprolol 25mg 2x/day, and rescue med catapres .1mg 1-2x day. I have been using my rescue med frequently with little effect. Today I have felt unnaturally on edge, and I have been getting a lot of headaches (moderate ones, about 6 on a pain scale of 10). Is this emergent or just something to watch?

Brief answer....must visit your doctor immediately
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Your diastolic blood pressure ( lower reading ) has been hovering between 110-120 since past one week and it is definitely high. This high blood pressure seems to be the cause for your unease and constant headache.
Since your present medications are not  able to control your BP,it means that you need a revision of your prescription and wait and watch policy is not going to benefit you.
Consult your doctor as early as possible and if he is not available, then go to ER.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
