Question: I get diarrhea intermittently not every day and only in the morning. I've been told the kabucha can help calm my digestion. I don't eat the same thing every day - today I had coffee Greek yogurt with blueberries and 1/2 English muffin.

Brief Answer:
Rule out infective causes first and treat them

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately. Based on the history you have shared, it is difficult to comment about these diets to be beneficial in your case as there is no known scientific data supporting this evidence neither are the exact safety profile of these diets exactly established or recognised by FDA.

However in cases of intermittent diarrhea, you have to treat the infective causes if suspected and malabsorption too. Some times wheat or milk products intolerance is being the cause of the issue and stopping milk and dairy products may give benefits. However diet containing fibre act as adsorbent and absorb extra water in the intestines and help to smoothen the movement.

Some vegetables and herbs and their seeds acts as irritants in the gut and induce diarrhea so such products shouldn't be used without clear recommendations of a dietician. Meanwhile using metronidazole and lopermide becomes necessary is severe cases of diarrhea. Also keep on replacing the lost salts and water through oral rehydration salts.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions , feel free to ask. Regards.
