Suggest Treatment For Severe Itching And Soreness Around The Scrotum

Question: Yes I have itching and soreness within an large darkened area between my legs beneath and around my scrotum. Any idea of what this is and what started it?

Candidal intertrigo most probably

Hi,

Welcome to HCM...

After reading history and seeing the photos, I could conclude that most probably you may be having candidal intertrigo. As your immunity is poor due to HIV infection, you are likely to suffer from various infections. So, you might have developed candidal infection in groin areas..that is called candidal intertrigo.

You may consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and treatment. However, I would suggest..

- anti fungal like itroconazole 200 mg daily for two weeks
- apply sertaconazole cream on affected areas
- antihistaminics like levocetirizine 5 mg daily till itch is relieved
- immunomodulator like levamisole,zinc sulfate..etc
- keep the area dry
- avoid soap bath..dettol liq may be used to cleanse the area

I hope above tips might be helpful to you for clearing the lesions.
