Suggest Treatment For Severe Itching Below The Knees

Question: My son has iching in his leg , just below his knee. He is 6 year old. Please suggest.

Papular Urticaria; topical steroid ointment+Oral antihistamine

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

I have reviewed the Image. After reviewing Image I am of the opinion that this is papular urticaria i.e insect bite hypersensitvity.

If I was the treating I would suggest that you apply a topical steroid+antibiotic combination ointment, twice daily at the affected site e.g either flutiacsone propionate 0.05% + 2% mupirocin combination ointment Or Mometasone furoate 0.1% + fusidic acid 2% combination cream.

An Oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine syp, 5ml,once daily will provide him symptomatic relief from itching.
