Brief Answer:
Seems to be cellulitis or fungal infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

From the picture,it seems to be having cellulitis or fungal infection for which your son will need to take topical antibiotics (neosporin or soframycin) with anti-fungal (clotrimazole) cream or ointment.

Also,he will need oral antihistamines (cetrizine 10 mg if his weight is more than 40 kg) to alleviate itching sensation and small course antibiotic (droxyl 500 mg) to get rid off completely.

The lesion would start subsiding within 3 to 4 days with topical application of this cream or ointment but in case if it does not then I would advice you to see some local doctor who will inspect the lesion and prescribe appropriate antibiotic small course with other symptomatic treatment.

Hope this will help you.
