Suggest Treatment For Severe Joint And Muscle Pain
Question: I have no memory of injuring my left elbow. Tuesday I came down with the flu and the sore elbow. The flu came with achy joints esp the left knee but none as sore as the elbow. The flu hung on until Saturday, is gone now, other joints not sore. The elbow is worse than ever, swollen in a soft bulge like Popeye.I have COPD and use Spiriva and Advair. Would these affect my joints?
Brief Answer:
They are safe.
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
Thanks for the query.
It seems that you have Viral arthritis of your shoulder.
This can happen during our after a flu attack.
Spirea and Advair can be taken.
Apply warm packs to the affected region for relief. Avoid much motion at the joint. Keep the limb elevated. Take Tablet Acetaminophen 500mg twice a day.
It should subside in a few days. If not, do consult your Doctor for thorough examination and if required, aspiration of the fluid from the joint for testing.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
