Brief Answer:
Nerve conduction study and EEG are necessary first.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Neuropathic pain caused by peripheral nerves involvement should be considered in this case.

Peripheral neuropathy due to nerve(s) compression during their pathway ( tunnel syndromes ), or due to other possible conditions that may damage peripheral nerves ( diabetes, viral infections, side effects of drugs, alcohol abuse, heavy metals toxicity, low vitamin B12 levels, neuroma, etc.) should be considered and evaluated further.

Besides peripheral nerves involvement, failed back spine surgery (FBSS) syndrome may be taken in consideration too.

In case of FBSS, systems of spinal intrathecal release of opioids ( morphine ), should be considered, since all other treatments failed to improve pain.

Nerve conduction study and EMG are necessary as additional tests to understand better this condition.

If nerves are found to be damaged outside spinal cord after the nerve conduction study, release surgery, local injections and ablation may be performed also.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
