Question: Hello, I fell awkwardly to my left and backwards twisting my knee about 2 months ago. I was stepping down from a shower room into a bedroom. I fell left and onto my left leg which was trapped by my falling. There was considerable force and excruciating pain. I was unable to walk properly for weeks and the pain has now subsided but is still there. Dull ache at night and during the day. However if I do too much standing (1 hour +) The pain level can increase sharply. If I am sat down for more than 10 minutes it is very stiff for a couple of minutes. Self diagnosing on the internet (I know I shouldn't) it fits into symptoms and type of twisting injury of an anterior cruciate ligament injury. I waitied a couple of weeks before seeing a docter but when I did he referred me to a consultant. I now find I am on a waiting list looking at 36 weeks before an appointment. The web article mentioned the possibility of this becoming chronic in left untreated. Obviously I need advice. I do not have private medical health insurance but could possibly XXXXXXX (industrial injury at work). I would seek your advice on what to do and I am open to paying for private treatment possibly oversea which I understand is cheaper. I am 64.

Brief Answer:
Yes, you can come to XXXXXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have read your query.

From the symptoms your are experiencing, it seems there's an internal derangement of knee, it may be cruciate ligament tear or meniscus tear.

If I're your treating doctor I would advise you to have MRI scan of affected knee and send me the report.

I'd advice and do cruciate reconstruction surgery, partial menisectomy, depending upon the findings.

Till then avoid squatting position and upstairs as much as you can.

For pain you can take tab. Aceclofenac 100mg+Serratiopeptidase 15mg thrice a day by prescription of your treating doctor.

Its good that you want to get your treatment Overseas so I'd suggest you to come to XXXXXXX in our hospital XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX hospital of Medical Sciences and Research, XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Here we will do your MRI of the knee joint and treat you accordingly.

Our charges are also minimal as compared to your country and facilities in XXXXXXX hospitals is par with your country.
