It may need doppler ultrasound and vascular surgeon review

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to HealthcareMagic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in the best way possible.

First of all, it is sad to know what your husband has been experiencing lately.

Based on the history you have shared, the change of color and temperature necessitates to evaluate the limb for any signs of decreased blood supply which can be done first by a careful examination of lower limbs by your primary physician for pedal pulses as well as other signs of limb ischemia. If any such suspicion is present, a prompt ultrasound doppler of the affected limb should be done and blood thinners or other suitable interventions to be incorporated.

But in any of these cases, it needs to be evaluated by a physician as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, for the pain, he can take OTC analgesics like Acetaminophen.

Hope this has answered your query if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
Regards.
