Suggest Treatment For Severe Loose Motion In A Child

ORS is the mainstay of treatment
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. It seems that your daughter has an episode of gastritis or food poisoning. Reflora Plus has been rightly given. Clabioz is optional. But the mainstay of treatment is breast milk and ORS (oral rehydration solution). Saboodana or any other fluids can be given. Unless the lost salts and fluids are replenished the child would become dehydrated. The urine output needs to be monitored. If the frequency comes down it indicates dehydration and calls for additional supplementation of fluids. But if the child becomes lethargic you would need to take her to a hospital without delay.
You need to be patient. The loose motions may persist for a 3-4 days before it resolves.
Let me know if I could help further.

Meanwhile i would like to provide some additional information here that iam giving breast milk to my baby along with formula milk (lactogen 1).
For 3 and half months she is now 7.8 kgs.

Thanks for writing back. As I have already mentioned, the condition is not likely to improve in a couple of days and all you need to do is to replenish the water and salt lost. As of now I would discourage formula milks like Lactogen 1 although breast milk should essentially be continued.
The weight is fine for age and you need not worry about the same. Let me emphasize on the fact that breast milk is the best possible milk for a baby and there can be no alternatives for the same. Most formula milks are cow milk based and hence difficult to digest. Moreover they make the child more prone to complications and infections. Mother's breast milk is produced on the demand of the baby. Hungrier the baby, more vigorous is the suck. More is the suck, more is the amount of breast milk produced. Giving formula automatically reduces the demand of the baby and thereby the production of breast milk. All you need to do is to switch back to exclusive breast feeding and the production will increase automatically. All you need to do is to monitor the urine output. If the frequency is more than 6 times in 24 hours, you would know that the amount of feeding is adequate. If the amount of passage of urine is less or if the child is lethargic you would need to take the child to a doctor without delay.
So long as you are giving formula milk, Lactare capsules would hardly help. Lactare would not cause any problems for the baby.
Breast milk also takes care of immunity against common ailments like cough and cold, and diarrhea. So, automatically your worries would be reduced.
Although not recommended, you can start semisolids from 5 months of age. It would be better to stop formula as fast as possible. You can start with thick liquids like dal water or fruit juices, gradually move over to semi-solids or mashed foods, and subsequently start with pounded food. Consider your ABCs - applesauce, bananas, and cereal (rice, biscuits dipped in milk, or roti softened with milk/water). Boiled rice and dal with vegetables and give in mashed form. Gradually increase the amount and frequency. Introduce one new food item per week and stick to it at least for the week.
Hopefully that clears your doubts.

You need to increase your own fluid intake.

Thanks for writing back.
I would still insist you to continue breast milk rather than giving formula milk. Make sure that you drink a glass of milk twice a day, as well as plenty of water to drink.
Fruit juice can be given to her although it increases the probability of increase in frequency of loose stools. Ragi malt can be given.
Let me know how many times the child has passed urine in last 24 hours and I would guide you accordingly.

Breast milk should suffice.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the update. Since your child is already passing urine for more than 6-8 times in 24 hours, you may consider your breast milk production to be sufficient and your child does not need additional top up feeds with formula. I would insist you to discontinue it. The production of breast milk would automatically readjust itself.
The stool frequency would gradually come down soon. You have to be patient.
