Suggest Treatment For Severe Muscle Fatigue

default
Posted on Thu, 17 Aug 2017
Question: Im 46 years old. 5'9" and now 146 lbs. Consider myself relatively healthy, active and fit. Im never sick (like not since high school). Since XXXXXXX I have gained approx. 20 lbs. I work out 6 days a week and eat healthy. I dont drink any sugar or caffeinated drinks. On top of the insane weight gain, im always exhausted. When I work out, my muscle fatigue is ridiculous and shouldnt be this bad. The weight gain is causing me to be depressed and very frustrated. Ive tried the diets from complete starvation to doing it correctly and eating a healthy breakfast and small meals each day (low carb and no sugar). If I skip working out one day I gain weight, and I havent dropped a pound. Could this be a thyroid issue? What is happening? Help please.

Brief Answer:
Get your TSH measured!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have reviewed your information fully. This is suggestive of a low functioning thyroid. I will suggest that you get your thyroid evaluated. I will suggest that you get your TSH levels measured to start with. This will guide further evaluation and treatment options as appropriate.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to communicate the results of the TSH to me for review and further guidance.
