Question: I HAD A ELBOW REPLACEMENT SURGERY AND I AM IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN, THE PAIN MEDICINE I WAS GIVEN DOES NOT TAKE THE PAIN AWAY

I am sorry to hear that you are having persistent pain that is not controlled by the narcotic pain medication provided by your doctor. At this time it would be most appropriate to contact your surgeon to let him know you're having these symptoms. The surgeon might require that you come in for an evaluation.

Also, the surgeon may recommend increasing the dosage or frequency of the pain medication for short period of time. Again I am concerned you're still having pain despite the use of hydrocodone. For this reason I think you should try to contact the surgeon as soon as possible for further recommendations.
