Question: my sister is 64 years old, has an intellectual disability, and is nonverbal.I need to find a doctor to treat her.she cannot Express to me how she is in pain but she definitely is in pain. she is normally very quiet but is now shouting out, moaning, pulling her hair, hitting herself in the head, showing atypical reaction to her pain by laughing, lashing out by trying to grab my face, eating less, rocking back and forth, and she has toys that she bites.she also seems to have muscle spasms in her legs, they jerk especially at night.I need to find a doctor in Muncie Indiana.

Brief Answer:
Contact a neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Hi
thank you for asking us
I read your query and understand your concern
I am sorry for the symptoms your sister is suffering
In my opinion if your sister was one of my patient I would undertake a brain CT scan
What your sister is suffering seems like frontal syndrome which has some causes
Most of them will be confirmed or excluded after CT scan
The second possibility is dementia (Alzheimer)
You should consult a neurologist, CT need to be done and start treatment
Hope I have been of help
Please feel free to ask further questions is discuss for doubts
Wish you all the best and fast recovery of your sister

thank you very much for your answer to my question about my sister.neurologist would not see her without a doctor referral and her doctor made the referral but couldn't get an appointment until September 22nd. I went ahead and made the appointment for September 22nd,I hate to wait that long but I guess I must.I hate to think that is what is wrong with her but at least then we could start treatment and relieve her pain. thanks again!

Should wait for neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Hi again
thank you for coming back
I am sorry for the late appointment but it is necessary to contact a neurologist
I think that after starting treatment your sister will feel bette again
I don't think the cause is pain anyway before deciding a neurogical examination will help to decide further steps
Hope I have been of help
Please if you don't have further questions close the query or feel free to ask if you still need clarifications
