Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Wrist After Injury
Question: I am 72 years old and I maybe have sprained my wrist when I fell while jogging 4 weeks ago. I can move my wrist, but it has certain pains if moved in certain ways up to now. I was able to try pull up, but push up might aggravate the injury and I did not try. What should I do at this time?
Brief Answer:
Get a X ray done. Apply hot compress. Take pain killers if needed.

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through the details and understand your concerns. When we fall on our hands, there are certain small bones of our hand that can suffer a fracture. Although the pain might not be severe, there might be difficulty in certain movements. I would suggest you to get a X ray of your wrist done. It will indicate whether there is any bony injury or whether the injury is limited to soft tissues only. In case of the latter, application of hot compress and intake of some pain medication like acetaminophen/paracetamol should provide relief.
Hope that helps.
