Suggest Treatment For Severe Rashes On Body
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hello Doctor,
Since day before yesterday my sister is getting few rashes in her skin which have increased today. Initially a small red patch occurs, which turns into a blister that itches slightly and later it breaks and the itching goes off and the area expands into a harder surface with reduced redness. She does not have any pain in the rashes. Her body temperature is 99.2 and she is having slight headache, specially at the back side of the head. I have attached an image of the different stages of the rashes. We are not sure whether it could be a cause, but off late she was checked for Vit D levels and it was 21. So doctor suggested her Uprise-D3 60K ( it contains 60000 IU ) once a week for 2 months. But after taking 1 tablet, she was feeling nausea, swelling of face and eyelids, gas etc. So she stopped taking the tablet. Also since she has weakness during her periods, she was simultaneously prescribed ENERGEX f tablets for 3 months. This also contains Vit D3 (100 IU ) and she is taking the tablets since last 20 days without any issues. Not knowing the cause, I also made her stop the intake of this tablet from today. The doctor is currently not reachable and I am also in my8th month of pregnancy, so not in a position to go out with her to search for a suitable remedy. Kindly help us out with your proper guidance. Thanks a lot.
Regards,

Seems to be chicken pox infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to healthcaremagic
I have gone through your history and reviewed the photographs.
According to me your sister is having chicken pox infection but to confirm the diagnosis I need to ask you further questions:
Which parts of the body are affected by the rash?
Is the rash in different stages of evolution like some red areas, some blisters and some showing signs of healing?
What is the intensity of itching?
Kindly revert back

Hello Doctor,
Rash is there all over, highest intensity on scalp and back, next is face and front, next hand and few in the legs.
Yes the rashes are at different stages.
Intensity of itching is very mild, only the blister stage itches.
If its chicken pox, how can I protect myself and my unborn child from it? Please suggest.
Thanks & Regards,

Brief Answer:
She is surely having chicken pox infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi!! She is surely having chicken pox infection.
You need to keep her in isolation and stay away from her as she is infectious. The infectivity of chicken pox persists till all the blisters have healed and dried up. Till then stay away from her as there are chances of infection spreading to you.
I would also suggest you to give her antivirals as soon as possible. In such cases I recommend my patients to start with tablet valciclovir 1 gram three times in a day for 1 week and apply calamine lotion on the affected areas 2-3 times in a day. She can take okacet l tablet as this will relieve her itching . Ask her no to touch the area of the rashes and donot scratch them. Otherwise permanent marks will be left on her body.
I hope to have answered your queries.
I would be happy to clarify any further doubts.
