Question: I am just wondering how likely is it that I would have mal de debarquement syndrome? im a 29 year old female. I went on a holiday 3 months ago I was extremely anxious as it was the first time I had taken my daughter on holidays. The flight was only 2 hours, did take public transport and went on a 20 minute boat trip. I dont know weather its my anxiety making me feel like im rocking/swaying or if i really do have this condition. Im driving myself insane with googling it. My gp has put me on antidepressents which i started 2 weeks ago as she thinks its anxiety related. Ive also had a really sore ear but no infection. Please help me

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your question.

Your doctor is very correct. Everything you are describing, including a focus on ear pain, is consistent with anxiety and NOT a genetic disease. Trust your doctor and take the antidepressant. In as little as 2 more weeks you will begin to worry less. Get your ear examined to assure there is no infection
