Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat And Swollen Neck

Question: My 11 year old daughter has had a sore throat (decreasing, able to eat and swallow ok now), some swelling at the base of the neck, now, and a little redness. no fever, no spots back of mouth. before that she had some muscle soreness, legs then arms.

Since the symptoms are resolving I suggest you to observe the swelling for couple of days. IT should be a lymph node that was swollen because of sorethroat. I think it should be viral pharyngitis. If the lymph node like swelling is increasing or not reduced in size over a week, then you should approach the doctor.

Where is the redness that you mention? Can you take a picture of the swelling and redness?
