Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat And Swollen Neck

Question: My 11 year old daughter has had a sore throat (decreasing, able to eat and swallow ok now), some swelling at the base of the neck, now, and a little redness. no fever, no spots back of mouth. before that she had some muscle soreness, legs then arms.
Brief Answer:
Viral pharyngitis

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Since the symptoms are resolving I suggest you to observe the swelling for couple of days. IT should be a lymph node that was swollen because of sorethroat. I think it should be viral pharyngitis. If the lymph node like swelling is increasing or not reduced in size over a week, then you should approach the doctor.
Where is the redness that you mention? Can you take a picture of the swelling and redness?

Thank you much. I will take a picture in the morning if swelling and redness (was slight, patchy) are still there.
