Brief Answer:
Looks like throat infection. Penicillin should clear it

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
From the description you have given, it looks like she has got throat infection called as pharyngitis. It can occur in any one and doesn't have any relation to post surgical status.
As you mentioned she has been started with penicillin and nystatin mouth gel which is good regime for the infection.
I would also recommend to continue the same for the full course of 5 days or 7 days as prescribed by your doctor.
Ask her to drink and eat hot and warm foods. Better to avoid cold foods until the infection subsides. Before sleeping brushing is advisable with gargling to clear the oral cavity and pharyngeal area to help reduce the infection faster.
I feel with the antibiotics and other precautionary measures I mentioned above, she should get better faster.
I hope I have answered your question well.
If you have any questions kindly ask me back.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Not pus. They are bacterial colonies and their secretions itself

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for following up with me.
I am sorry for delayed reply as was busy with other work.
The whitish or yellowish spots is not pus but the bacterial colonies itself or sometimes the secretion they produce which remains on the mucosa.
Do not try to scrape it or remove manually as it could bleed.
Just complete the course of antibiotics with other supportive measures and it will go on its own with treatment.
I hope this helps you.
If you have any questions please ask me back.
Thank you
