Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat

Some practical advises to help relieve the pain.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
I read you have tried some of the things that may work.
-- The first one which helps the most is Advil- take 400-600mg from it every 8 hours so you will be under the effect of the medicine almost all the time.
--If not completely better, you can take Acetaminophen 500mg 3 hours after the Advil. So you will be combining once of these meds every 3 hours.
-- Sore throat lozenges and gargles with salt may be helpful also to top the effect of Advil;
-- Teas with honey help also;
-- Iodine sprays help to disinfect the tonsils, but don't really help with the pain. I may suggest different names but it will all depend on what you can find locally. So the best way to find something that helps it is to go to the local pharmacy and find one that has except the local disinfectant, also an analgesic like lidocaine.
One thing to rule out though is if it really a viral or if it a bacterial infection and you will need antibiotics. This is very important because otherwise the infection will not go away if will not get treated. If you haven't seen a doctor and you don't know for sure that it is just a viral, let me know and I will try to ask for more information and advice accordingly.
Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications.
