Suggest Treatment For Severe Swollen Rashes On Forearms
!
ì
A photo of rash on forearms and following data are needed....
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns.
1. A photograph of the rash on your forearms is needed to understand your current situation better and help with a proper diagnosis.
2. You are saying that have carried out many tests and was found Lupus positive. Can you please provide the reports of these lab tests you did so I can analyze them further before running into final conclusions?
3. The severely red and swollen forearms are due to itchiness. Do you have any other symptom apart the rash like: fatigue? joint pain? or any other unusual problem? Is the rash located only on your forearms or you have other areas of your body with rash?
I need to have all these information and the photo in order to determine whether you have a case of isolated (rash) Lupur or systemic lupus for proper diagnosis and treatment.
Looking forward to have the requested info in.

could be due to lupus;local steroids/antihistaminics advised as following..
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
1. Thank you for providing the requested photos. I have gone through them and I have noted the rash, which in some parts has caused ulcers due to scratching.
2. Unfortunately, I was not able to receive any answer to my previous questions; only the photos I received.
3. Anyway, the rash could be due to lupus. Apart taking prednisone orally; a steroid cream locally can be of help to ease the itchiness.
Taking anti-histaminic orally or applying anti-histaminic cream locally can also be of help.
Sometimes, injections of steroids on the itchy area can also help if other treatments will fail.
Now, at the end, I need to know if doctor found out you have systemic Lupus or only cutaneous Lupus only? Because sometimes, the cutaneous rash is a manifestation of systemic Lupus in active stage too.

systemic lupus to treat with systemic therapy
Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,
I am really sorry for the situation you are going through.
1. All the symptoms you are experiencing : fatigued, moody, joint aches and sunburn appearance on your nose and cheeks are strongly suggesting Systemic Lupus.
2. If I was your caring doctor would recommend to keep following up with a rheumatologist. You can ask your family doctor to make a recommendation to a rheumatologist at your location.
3. Atarax is a good choice for itchy rash you are experiencing. However, I still think that as you are sufferingof systemic lupus, you need systemic treatment orally or by injections to dominate the symptoms.
