Suggest Treatment For Severe Throat Pain
Question: I have throat pain and i am attaching my throat pics. Is it anything serious? First i had pain 6-7 weeks back and doctors said infection and tonsils. It kind of got better in 3 weeks. Now i am experiencing again. Kindly have a look at the pics and let me know. Age - 24, M. No other symptoms.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. I have checked the attached images. There is no significant redness although there are some white spots. Such sore throat can be caused due to some viruses like Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) (causes mono), or some bacteria like Streptococcus (causes Strep throat). It is not something serious and irrespective of the cause, all you need to do is to gurgle with lukewarm water and recovery will occur in a week or so. However, in case of Strep throat, even though it will go away on its own you would still remain infective for a couple of weeks if you are not treated with antibiotics. You therefore need to visit a doctor and get it evaluated in order to determine whether antibiotics are to be given.

Thanks, tonsils are paining a little. Is the size of tonsils very enlarged or it's ok? And what is the that whitish yellow spot?

The tonsils are slightly enlarged but that is not a cause for concern. The whitish spot is a pus point as seen in bacterial infections like the ones due to Streptococcus. That is the reason for I insisted you to visit a doctor and determine whether antibiotics need to be given.
