Suggest Treatment For Severe Tooth Pain Due To A Tooth Abscess

default
Posted on Mon, 7 Sep 2015
Question: I have m
ajor tooth pain due to a diagnosed tooth abscess. The dentist has prescribed me antibiotics and panadol for the pain. I have been in such pain for hours that I decided to take Ibropufen Retard (800mg) which is an NSAID. But I am also on Exforge, should I be worried? I have taken Volfast and Valtoren while on Exforge before and have not had any negative experience. Do I have a reason to be concerned? what alternative effective pain killers options do you I have?

Brief Answer:
No need to worry; take diclo- paracetamol combination

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for writing in.

Abscessed tooth results in acute pain & inflammation & its first line of treatment is analgesic & antibiotic therapy followed by treatment of affected tooth.
Since you are taking medication for hypertension, hence you may take diclofenac- potassium & paracetamol combination(50:500 mg) as analgesic thrice a day along with amoxicillin & clavulanic acid 625 mg twice a day & some antacid once daily for 5 days.Once you get symptomatic relief then go for proper treatment of that tooth that might be Root Canal Treatmnent or Extraction.
There is no side effect of drugs that you have earlier taken. So please don't worry.
Visit your dentist for further treatment plan.

Hope I answered your query

Wishing you good health

Brief Answer:
Megamox can not increase pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Megamox also contains combination od amoxi- clav but it depends what dose are you taking? It should be 625mg or 1 gm combination twice a day in your case.
It will definitely provide relief.
Secondly I have already mentioned you the salt for other medicines & you may just check it because commercially im not sure what all companies would be available there, hence go with the same salt.

Hope I answered your queries
