Question: Why my Lips are so dry throughout the year even if i apply lipbalm?I feel my lips are so sticky.

Hi,

Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.I can understand your concern.

You are probably having chapped lips.

Lack of oil secreting glands on lips is most important cause for this.However along with this low consumption of water,avoidance of fruits in diet,lip licking ,smoking etc are also responsible for dry lips.

Chances of dryness of lips is more if you work in hot climate.It leads to dryness and peeling of lips known as actinic chelitis.

Application of lip balms is only cure for this.Frequent application is required.It will be better if you use a sunscreen added in lip balms.Blistex lip balm is one such preparation.
