Brief Answer:
may be due to neuralgia

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It may be due to neuralgia.

This is nerve related pain that can present in different ways. It can be sharp as in your case or burning, tingling, sticking etc.

It occurs because of abnormal structure or function of a nerve in the particular area.
In many cases it is temporary.

The most common causes include: (1) vitamin b12 or folate deficiency
(2)trauma to the nerve
(3)compression of the nerve by a mass or enlarged blood vessel
(4)diabetes
(5)liver or kidney disease
(6)exposure to toxins
(7)neurological conditions such as ms
(8)idiopathic - cause not known

If it continues or worsens then you may want to consider visiting your doctor for an assessment which would include physical examination of your head and neck, assessment of the cranial nerves (nerves in the head).

Treatment would depend on the cause found.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
