Question: My husband is 63 and has begun to substitute incorrect nouns in sentences. For instance he might say"Would you like some garage" instead of "Would you like some dinner." He also saw me walk into the living room after I got off work and spoke to me, but a couple of minutes later he said"Oh, you're home!" I'm not sure what to do, but it worries me.

Brief Answer:
There is need for Neurologist consult.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Recent problems with short term memory and speech disorders at your husband's age could indicate there is a neurological condition going on.

Most probably there may be Dementia in its first stages.

Other tests mostly neurological ( mental state examination etc.) are needed to better localize the underlying cause.

So I suggest for your husband to consult a Neurologist and discuss your concerns.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
