Brief Answer:
Several possibilities

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

The causes of shortness of breath with spots on the lungs can be several. The most common one would be pneumonia, an infection due to bacteria or viruses usually. Usually there is accompanying fever among other symptoms though. Treatment consists in supportive measure and antibiotics.

Another possible cause of sudden lack of breath would be pulmonary embolism, a blood clot blocking a blood vessel in the lungs, a clot often formed in the lower limbs veins and then being released in the venous circulation. Treatment in that case would consist of blood thinners for several months.

Another cause would be a tumor, given there being several spots a metastasis could be suspected.

Of course these are only some of the most common assumptions. It is really hard to reach any conclusion due to the limited info you provide, both on other possible symptoms (fever, cough, sputum, heart rate etc) as well as the findings of the exams (not even clear whether the mri and cat scan were of the chest or head).

I remain at your disposal for other questions, possibly with some more information.
