Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Invokana

Brief Answer:
it's a side effect probably
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
more than 10% of invokana users experience vulvovaginal yeast infection, which usually presents with itching and burning sensation when you scratch it or have sex. You'll need to be examined by your doctor for confirmation of the diagnosis and receive appropriate antifungal treatment. If this is the first such infection, you can use local treatment measures only.
I don't know if witch XXXXXXX will work. This is not a documented medical treatment for this kind of infection, so it's not recommended.
I hope you find my comments helpful!
You can contact me again, if you'd like any clarification or further information.
Kind Regards!

Thank you for your help. I try not to scratch it, but it can be extremely itchy! I did check with a doctor awhile ago, and it wasn't much help. Do you have any ideas about how to treat the itch! I have a doctor appointment, but not for another month! Thank you!
Brief Answer:
there are some options...
Detailed Answer:
You're welcome!
Treating the infection will take care of the itchiness. You can use either a single dose of fluconazole (150mg) or topical therapy with local antifungal agents like miconazole, clotrimazole, etc either as vaginal cream or as vaginal suppositories. Local treatment might have to be continued for 7-14 days. If there's too much redness then a combination with a corticosteroid will prove faster relief. Corticosteroids are beneficial for the fungi though, so rational use is recommended.
If you get a lot of recurring vaginal yeast infections then prophylaxis with 150mg of fluconazole once a week might be required. Stopping the drug and substituting it with another would be an ever better choice!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
