Suggest Treatment For Slurred Speech After An Accident

Question: My daughter is experiencing difficulties with her speech and is substituting weird words in her conversation with us. She is not able to coherently talk to us. I was afraid she might have mixed up some of her medications, but now I'm worried because she fell down the last few steps of the stairs and hit her head on a window sill. She is swollen over her left eye and her temple. Can you help? Should we take her to the ER? She is 48 years old.
Brief Answer:
Take to er
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible brain problem like stroke. I would suggest you take her to a ER urgently and her s scan done as soon as possible.
Since she has fallen and has a black eye there is a possibility that she may have bled inside. alternatively, the fall may have occurred due to a preceding stroke.
This can be differentiated on a scan only.
The treatment will depend on the reports.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal

Thank you for your help. We are trying to convince her to go to the ER, but she is determined not to go. She knows something is wrong but cannot understand how completely incoherent she is. She might start a sentence but after a few words, she is making no sense whatsoever. If we cannot get her to go willingly, should we force her?
Brief Answer:
Get her to ER
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dont blame her.
Lack of insight into the disease is a part of the illness.
Yes get her to ER.
Earlier the better.
