Suggest Treatment For Small Bumps On The Buttocks

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Jul 2015
Question: I noticed a couple of days ago a small bump on my buttocks, left cheek to be exact. It sticks out a little not much, is fleshy colored and is soft. It is not painful, no swelling, redness, or any other symptoms that I would consider for it to be serious. I do not even know how long it has been there to be honest and in the past couple of days I have been monitoring it, it has not seemed to change at all. I am a little concerned though, is this something I should be worried about or is it just a skin lesion? Is it a result of cancer, an std, anything? I am posting pictures for you on the left side near the midline. Please help me out

Brief Answer:
For now, nothing concerning. Monitor only!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this swelling that you have reported. I have reviewed the attache images. From the images and the information provided, there is nothing to worry about at this time. This lump is not suggestive of any specific disease condition. It is not cancer and it is in no way and STD. To me, it is a non specific swelling that should resolve spontaneously unless something else comes up.

If any symptoms come up, please report to me for review and more insights. As of now, be calm and keep an eye on it just to make sure nothing goes unnoticed.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Thank you so much, I was just a little concerned. I think that I am a hypochondriac sometimes and I read into things too much. Always looking at little things that are normal and reading innto them too much. Thank you for the reply. This definitely eases my mind.

On a completely different question that might be related:
5 weeks ago I had protected sex with a different partner. Rumors were that she has herpes but she went and got tested and said everything was good. I still have been checking my body for symptoms every single day, thus the check on my buttocks and discovering the bump. I have not had any symptoms at all of any initial outbreak. But I have convinced myself a hundred times of small symptoms that I thought were the beginnings of an outbreak. Example: I shaved my mustache off and a razor burn spot formed at the corner of my lip, after one day it cleared up and nothing happened. I had convinced myself that this was an initial outbreak. But after it cleared up I knew it was nothing. Since then, I have not had anything at all that has been any symptoms of herpes. No itching, tingling, sores, blisters, anything. It has been 36 days since encounter. Am I just feeling guilty for what I did and over analyzing everything? If I had contracted herpes wouldnt I have shown signs by now? Am I just a hypochondriac and everything will be ok? Feeling scared and guilty and just need all of this to go away.

Brief Answer:
I understand you fully!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

At times we only wish if you could have not done it. However, that is past and we cannot change it. I will encourage you not to dwell on this forever and carry on. It is not herpes, not in the slightest f its forms.

Take precautions not to repeat the same mistakes in future.

Follow up question from a hypochondriac:

Along with the bump which by the way has not gotten bigger or changed shape or color or anything. I was just checking my scrotum for any possible marks and DID NOT notice anything anywhere around my genitals at all, no blisters, sores, anything. Have not had any itching at all or anthing that constitutes an outbreak of an STD like herpes. I am a little overwight so I do have some rolls between my thigh and groin. I have some very sensitive stretch marks and vessels, again I have never itched in that area nor do I now. So as I pulled the area apart for the first time like ever, very small spots and vessels became red and started to bleed a little bit when I stretched the stretch marks. It looks like a little rash but no itching. Is this just because of the sensitivity of the stretch marks, or is this the beginning of an outbreak. My initial sexual encounter was 38 days ago, have not had any symptoms nor do I have any now. It was protected sex. Am I just being crazy or is this something like an STD. I have no pain or itching and it really just seems like it is a sensitive area at my stretch marks. Also to add on to that, I have been having some very weird colored stool movements the XXXXXXX few days, kely green color, but have also not been drinking alot of water, mostly kool aid and soda. Also eating not so much healthy stuff like pop ice popCiCles and swEets, which I have read can cause that change. Am I just crazy and looking way too much into these things. I feel perfectly normal but have no clue since I am not a trained professional. Here are pics of groin/thigh area, both sides.

Brief Answer:
Please, relax about this!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for expressing your deepest and most sincere thoughts with me.

I have reviewed the information fully. None of these is suggestive of an infection. I will recommend that you stop considering these findings as being suggestive of an infection as there is no information to support this. My advice is that you stay calm and relaxed and just be observant. If anything else really comes up and needs to be addressed, we will do that then. right now, there is no need for that.

I hope this helps. Let me know what your thoughts are at this time!
