Suggest Treatment For Small Scar In Forehead
Question: hello sir,
I have a small scar in forehead.
I have visited a cosmetologist locally(in Bangalore). She suggested 4 to 5 Fractional Laser sitting for it. Wanted to check whether laser sitting will be helpful or not in this matter. I have attached an Image of my scar for your reference.
thanks

Brief Answer:
Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation usually does'nt return
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation as the name indicates usually happens in response to an inciting cause which stimulates melanin synthesis e.g fractional co 2 laser for resurfacing of acne scars.
Skin lightening agents would ultimately help resolve this post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Once cured it is unlikely that this hyperpigmentation would return because the inflammatory stimulus for increased melanin synthesis/ hyperpigmentation is gone once the laser treated area re-epithelializes.
