Suggest Treatment For Soft Bump Behind The Ear
Question: Around the middle of the big bone behind my ear, I n
oticed a tiny, moveable, softish bump. I noticed it a little over 3 months ago. I may have gotten a little bit bigger, but I cannot tell for sure. It does not hurt.
(if you were to draw a straight line from the cartilage in the front of the ear, all the way to the back of the ear, it would be right below that line.) I don't even remember how I noticed it. What could it be? Could it be a disease? the only things I have is possible ETD.

I have not been really sick. I do think I have allergies. I did take nasal spray in february. the lump is on my left side ear..behind the ear and on the bone. it is very small, maybe the size of a seed. it's not painful. it's soft and can move. you cannot see it.

either a small Lymph node swelling caused from the undetected infection attack.
Your history of nasal spray,for breathing problem,indicates throat/nose infections-from Viral mostly,which has mostly lead to this seed like swelling/ lump behind left ear.
This is due to natural reaction of the draining lymph nodes.
Other causes as chronic resolving folliculitis, sebaceous cyst,needs to be ruled out by Consults with Surgeon.
Do' Suggested-
Wait and watch-for any further increase in size,pain or discomfort locally or in the throat.
Mostly this would resolve on its own.
If more worried-Consult family doctor and take antibiotics to control subclinical source of naso-pharyngeal infection,with NSAIDs-for 5 days time.
Keep throat hygiene clean with listerine gargles-for any cold, if needed.
Still it does not resolve and persists and causes worry with increase in size, Check up with ENT surgeon if needed.
Next appointment-
Only after 2 weeks time/ or if the problem increases.

I took nasal spray due to ETD. I didn't have a bump anywhere else. I do make mistakes of Google-ing and every disease from cancer to HIV shows up. this makes me nervous. it hasn't changed drastically if at all. I can't find any other bumps like that anywhere.
