Suggest Treatment For Soft Bump Behind The Ear
![default](/r/images/default.png)
oticed a tiny, moveable, softish bump. I noticed it a little over 3 months ago. I may have gotten a little bit bigger, but I cannot tell for sure. It does not hurt.
(if you were to draw a straight line from the cartilage in the front of the ear, all the way to the back of the ear, it would be right below that line.) I don't even remember how I noticed it. What could it be? Could it be a disease? the only things I have is possible ETD.
thanks

Lump behind left ear / Under Evaluation
Detailed Answer:
Brief Answer:
Lump behind left ear / Under Evaluation
Mostly from the cold and infection- in the Feb,when you used nasal spray.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,Dear!! Thanks for the query updates to Me.
Read and reviewed facts and updates of your query, in context to your health worries.
My Opinion-
Dear with the available information,it mostly seems to be -
either a small Lymph node swelling caused from the undetected infection attack.
Your history of nasal spray, for breathing problem, indicates throat/nose infections-from Viral mostly, which has mostly lead to this seed like swelling/ lump behind left ear.
This is due to natural reaction of the draining lymph nodes.
Other causes as chronic resolving folliculitis, sebaceous cyst, needs to be ruled out by Consults with Surgeon.
Do' Suggested-
Wait and watch-for any further increase in size, pain or discomfort locally or in the throat.
Mostly this would resolve on its own.
If more worried-Consult family doctor and take antibiotics to control subclinical source of naso-pharyngeal infection, with NSAIDs-for 5 days time.
Keep throat hygiene clean with listerine gargles-for any cold, if needed.
Still it does not resolve and persists and causes worry with increase in size, Check up with ENT surgeon if needed.
Next appointment-
Only after 2 weeks time/ or if the problem increases.
Hope this reply would help you to plan further care to resolve your health issues.

My Opinion-
Dear after reviewing last updated information, I stand by My last reply and ,it mostly seems to be - a small Lymph node swelling caused from the undetected infection attack, which is accompanied with ETD(Eustachian Tube Dysfunction)
Your history of nasal spray, for ETD problem, indicates throat/nose infections-from Viral mostly, which has mostly lead to this seed like swelling/ lump behind left ear,and is mostly from chronic Lymph node swelling.
This is due to natural reaction of the draining lymph nodes,to the throat/ET infections.
Do's Suggested-
Don' worry from googled information.
Just follow the suggestions in last reply.
Its not from Cancer/HIV and tons of googled info.
Don't be hypochondriac.
If trouble from worries persist,
Excision biopsy and
CT Skull to study mastoid bone would resolve and fix the worries you have.
Other causes need to be ruled out by Consults with ENT Surgeon, if needed ONLY.
