Question: Hello, I am in 3weeks of pregnancy and I was hqving soar burps after food and indigestion. I took haljmola and because of its sourness I loved it and took about 6-7 of them. I have never had hajmola before. i felt relaxed. But now later in the evening i was having gas and acidity and i pooped alot. Is it because of hajmola? Will it harm my baby?

Brief Answer:
It will not harm your baby but please take maximum 2 tablets next time

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Hajmola is a digestive preparation containing ayurvedic herbal substances. It should be taken one or two tablets at a time and usually after food to help in digestion.

2. Taking 6 tablets at a time is overdose and this has caused acidity in you. However, it is unlikely to harm your baby therefore please do not panic. Please dink adequate amount of water and fluids. Have fresh home cooked healthy food and fruits. Your symptoms will stop by tomorrow morning. Please do not take any medicine without asking your doctor.

3. Please avoid taking so many hajmola tablets next time even if you like it. Alternatively you might take some home made light sour chutney in small amount to give you taste.

Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Thank you for your reply. Since the time I had hajmola and pooped alot, I feel I am not pregnant anymore as I dont feel any symptoms whatsoever in this regard. I am so tensed. I am going for ultrasound tomorrow but can you tell.me did my excessive pooping after hajmola acted as laxative and cleared my tummy and now am I no more pregnant? Is hajmola a laxative?
