Brief Answer:
fluids, rest, decongestants, topical throat solutions

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The common cold and the flu can both cause sore throat, nasal symptoms, cough but the flu would be associated with fatigue, muscle aches and pain, symptoms generally more severe.

Based on the above, you seem to have the flu rather than just a cold.

This means that the symptoms can last 1 to 2 weeks, in some persons even after the typical cough/cold symptoms go, the fatigue and lethargy can still remain.

Treatment: (1) mainly supportive, there are no medications to get rid of the flu only to help with symptoms

(2)if your symptoms are very bad , you may need to see your doctor, some persons can have very severe cases of flu requiring sometimes in hospital care

(3)lots of fluids and rest. Even if you do not want to eat , the fluids help to break up the mucus so that it can be expelled and also help to replace fluids loss by fever, coughing (lose via the lungs) etc

(4)Can add the paracetamol/tylenol to the advil to help with pain control since these are from 2 different families of drugs

(5)oral antiseptics/pain meds may help with the sore throat eg covonia throat spray or chloroseptic spray or gargle- both of these contain both a pain killer and antiseptic
Can be obtained over the counter.
If still no improvement may mean that the sore throat is bacterial and you need antibiotics

(6)decongestants to help with the nasal congestion and runny nose
Both oral and topical to the nose

Normally can find cough and cold medications that contain decongestants along with other meds.
Remember if use a cough mixture with an antihistamine would need to stop the other antihistamine or if it already has in acetaminophen (tylenol), would need to stop the tylenol.

This is to avoid taking excess med.

Summary: (1) covonia or chloroseptic for sore throat
(2)add acetaminophen/tylenol for pain
(3)fluids, rest
(4)decongestants for nasal symptoms

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
