Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat And Sinusitis

Question : On July 15th I had a sore throat and visited my doctor. Was prescribed penicillin VK 300mg to be taken for 10 days. I did not see any improvement and saw my family doctor yesterday who said it was just a viral inflammation (left side throat and tonsil area) and not strep or bacterial. It was suggested that I still finish with the penicillin. I also visited an ER last night and they told me it was again just inflammation. Two days ago as I was eating i noticed a little red bump and redness on my left side of my upper palate. In the picture it would be reversed and to the right. You can sort of see a small bump.I did happen to see my dentist for a routine visit and asked about it. He examined it with dental tool and said it was just inflammation and tested it for oral cancer. Negative. I should add that I do have sinusitis and do use Avamys for each nostril is twice daily. Based on what you can see in the picture is there any cause for alarm or am I worrying too much? Is there anything I can do for it? Its not very painful however sensitive when I drink and eat.

Welcome.
I have gone through your query and the pictures.
As told to you by the doctor whom you have visited, it just inflammation and I don't think it is anything serious.
As you are taking antibiotics , kindly complete the course.
Apart from that I would recommend few measures that will be beneficial.

Presently I would suggest you to avoid cold food, oily food, smoking if you do for few days.
Salt water gargling 3 to 4 times a day for few days.
Drink plenty of water especially warm water.
Early morning drink glass of warm water and tea spoon of honey.
Steam inhalation with few drops of eucalyptus oil in it, three to four times a day.
In case of nasal congestion, you can use nasal decongestant like otrivin.
Suck lozenges like strepsil or cofsil few times a day. You should be good with this measures.

Ive also attached a picture i just took. If it was more serious like strep or bacterial would it look different?

Also when i took my dosage of penicillin in the evening my ears do get red and warm. I also took the Avamys spray as well. This happened yesterday too. Im sure it cant be the avamys as ive had it beforr and so could i be allergic to penicillin?

I have gone through your picture, there is slight inflammation, apart from that I am not able to appreciate anything serious.
Serious hypersensitivity reactions are less common with the oral penicillin.
If this ear issue has started after taking penicillin, kindly stop using penicillin after consulting with the doctor who has prescribed it.
How many doses of penicillin you have taken? If there any previous history of allergy to penicillin?
Why you are using avamys?
