Have Cramping And Fullness In Stomach. Taking Penicillin VK And Amoxillain. Can The Medication Be Continued?

Penicillin VK tablets... I am on them but have had a really bad stomach i.e cramping/fullness that feels so far up my tummy it hurts and a dizzy head. This is day 7 out of 10.

I have only taken 1 lot today as I felt really yuk and it was definately the tablets. I have had sinusitus in April and took amoxillian then got a cyst in my mouth on my tonsil in May. The cyst has come right down and looks flatish now. What do you think as I was taking 8 tablets a day 250mg.

I don't want to take anymore as I feel yuk from the tablets ok otherwise generally.

Hi

Gastrointestinal side effects of the penicillin are very common and they include vomiting, bloating, diarrhea etc.

Most of the times the side effects are mild and do not interfere with the continuation of the medication.

As you have already taken them for 7 days, I will suggest to complete the course for full days if you can , otherwise you need to change the antibiotic and redo the course again.

Thanks.
