Brief Answer:
Please visit the ER.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. This seems to be a viral infection if it is worsening despite the treatment.

2. You need to get a nasal examination, endoscopy and a coagulogram if you have epistaxis (blood clots on blowing the nose).

3. You require anti-allergic and mucolytic medication. A cough syrup with dextromethorphan may help. Avoid expectorants. Check your current medication to rule out drug induced cough. Get a Absolute Eosinophil Blood Count done. A chest X-ray and ECG should be done. Use honey based home remedies and steam inhalation to soothe the throat and sinuses.

4. An important point is to rule out sinusitis or a CSF Rhinorrhea as a cause for a post nasal drip or nasal discharge. Do you have fever?

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for writing back.

1. The fever would be a sign of infection and not just an allergic cold.

2. This is another reason to visit the ER. You may require antibiotics and antipyretic medication. Routine blood tests will help.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
