Suggest Treatment For Spinal Cord Stenosis

Question: Hi,
I had a spinal injury in Sept 2014 resulting in Cauda Equina. The surgeon carried out a spinal decompression at L4/L5 and L5/S1.
I have been pain free since until April this year, when for no apparent reason developed back pain and Sciatica down my right leg. I have managed this with mobilisation exercises, physiotherapist and ibuprofen until a couple of day ago, when the pain in my right leg became so intense, I had to return to my GP. He examined me and explained that I had no reflex in my right knee or right ankle, or indeed my left knee, and only a slight reflex in my left ankle. He has referred me back to the Surgeon that I saw inSept 2014. In your experience is the likely cause and what steps are now likely to be followed when I see the Surgeon?

Brief Answer:
Spinal cord stenosis to consider.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HealthcareMagic.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

The possible cause in your case seems to be spinal canal stenosis at lower lumbar levels, predominantly at the right side.

Besides clinical and neurological examination by your Surgeon, imaging studies ( MRI ) of your lumbosacral spine is necessary to achieve a correct diagosis..

Hope you found the answer helpful. Feel free to ask further.

Kind regards.
