Brief Answer:
Looks like Impeti.go

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for the picture. The picture looks the lesions are impetigo, caused by streptococcal infection. Can you describe about pain and how long its been there? What is the occupation of your husband.

If I am right your husband need a course of oral antibiotics of Penicillin (if not allergic to) for a period of a week. You can use a topical cream of Mupirocin along with it. It is contagious and can spread by personal contact
