Brief Answer:
hello! Ι have been through your question.

Detailed Answer:
Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by bacteria that are spread through the air from person to person.
If not treated properly, TB disease can be fatal.
People infected with TB bacteria who are not sick may still need treatment to prevent TB disease from developing in the future but people with TB disease usually have symptoms, as your husband has, and may spread TB bacteria to others.
A cough lasting 3 weeks or longer is a symptom of TB disease.
Stage three occurs when the body is unable to contain the infection, and a necrotic and cavitation process begins in the lesion at the entry port or in other body lesions.
TB bacteria most commonly grow in the lungs, and can cause symptoms similar of your husband, such as a bad cough that lasts 3 weeks or longer, pain in the chest, coughing up blood or sputum, weakness or fatigue, weight loss,no appetite, chills, fever, sweating at night.Untreated disease has many remissions and exacerbation.Manifestations vary with the systems involved. But related your husband symptoms I think that maybe could be involved in TB infection not only pulmonary system but more possible and neurological (TB meningitis) based this on the symptoms above mentioned( cough, fever, vomiting and unconscious).
Tuberculous meningitis is the most severe form of TB. Despite treatment, mortality and long-term disability remain unacceptably high.
It is hard to say this but you should know that if he has TB meningitis , despite adequate treatment of hydrocephalus and various other complications, patients commonly fail to improve, but this depend on the severity of disease. The duration of anti tubercular therapy is 9-12 months and need some weeks after starting adequate anti tubercular to see improvement.
In my experience I had a patient(young adult) with TB meningitis that fortunately has a total recovery after 12 months anti tubercular treatments.
I hope my answer helps you.
I wish your husband a quick recovery.
