Brief Answer:
Analgesics and steroids are the main stay of treatment for frozen shoulder

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I can understand your concern.

Frozen shoulder is very common in diabetics.

The treatment of frozen shoulder is initially treated with a combination of oral corticosteroids and analgesics.

Analgesics are the first choice drugs-I recommend oral tablets of Voveron 100 mg for 2weeks.If pain does not subside with this, then oral steroids are indicated.

Even though steroids are contraindicated in diabetics, a judicious use of steroids over 3 week taper can be indicated.

The protocol is as follows

Corticosteroid Dosing in Patients With frozen shoulder

Week Number Medication Dose

1 (Days 1-7) Prednisone 40 mg/d
2 (Days 8-14) Prednisone 30 mg/d
3 (Days 15-18) Prednisone 20 mg/d
4 (Days 19-21) Prednisone 10 mg/d
5 (Days 22+) Discontinue

In case if you do not respond to above measures, then a surgical procedure with a prior MRI scan is mandatory.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these medications to you. With above measures the knee joint pains can also be controlled.

Pertaining to nervous weakness, I recommend short course of oral tablets of Vitamin B12 for 3 months. They are available as Matilda ER. They are very important for diabetic people.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
