Suggest Treatment For Stomach Infection And Vomiting In Infant

I am going to return to work after nearly a year.My daughter is going to be 6 months old by next week.
We tried Nan, Lactogen but she vomitted and could not digest these packed milk powders. She has been on exclusive breastfeeding for first 4 months and in 5th month I have started giving her banana, dal paani, khichri, suji kheer.I just wanted to know that in my absence if milk is to be given to her than which milk is good for baby. She refuses to take bottle, and when I tried bottle last week with verka green packet milk in it, she developed stomach infection. Now I am giving her zinc and probiotic. Please suggest as I am really very worried for her.In my absence my mother and my mother inlaw alternatively will take care of her.But how should I make her comfortable to take some other milk?
Suggestions on top feeding and complimentary feeding
Detailed Answer:
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
My congratulations for you for the initial exclusive breast feeding.
If your kid is not accepting packet milk or I'll infant milk formula, do not get perturbed. I am going to suggest you on complimentary feeding so that the baby will grow properly.
At this age you can start giving Cerelac stage one rice or Nestum rice stage 1 etc. All are same in calories and energy. Only thing is palatability which is subjective for each kid.
Other home-made food options will be -
1. Daal and rice well cooked and made into a porridge along with ghee
2. Boiled apple or banana and mashed into a paste.
3. Any made cereal porridge preparation with additional ghee added.
Remember certain principles like -
1. Add one food material / cereal or fruit per week. This will be useful because if he develops vomiting or diarrhoea, we will know what to avoid.
2. Add vegetables and fruits made into a paste surely to avoid constipation.
3. Do not add too much sugar as it may cause diarrhoea.
If you are determined to give milk, in fact any brand of infant milk formula is the same. It all depends on palatability of the baby. Tips -
1. Make sure that the dilution is proper - 1 unheaped scoop for 30 ml of water.
2. Do not use bottle.
3. Feed with spoon or paladey.
4. If there is diarrhea or blood in stools - the possibilities could be viral diarrhea or dysentery or cow's milk protein allergy. Approach your pediatrician immediately.
