Your son needs to be examined in order to be able to properly assess the cause, this is very important as right now it looks like a proper diagnosis has not been made, hence the treatment would be empirical and not specific.

I would request you to describe the pain a bit more so that I can try to narrow down the possibilities thus guide you better.

If you can imagine dividing the abdomen into 9 quadrants, that is, right left and middle, horizontally and upper, middle and lower vertically - could you please tell me where exactly the pain is located?

Could you also describe the nature of pain, whether it is continuous or intermittent, any association with food and whether any associated symptoms are present and whether the bowel habits are regular.

Let me mention that cyclopalm contains dicyclomine which can reduce abdominal pain due to gaseous distension. Bandy contains albendazole which is a deworming agent.

Rantac contains ranitidine which reduces acidity of the stomach.

Flagyl or metrogyl are the same and contain metronidazole which is intended to treat colonic infections.

Based on the location described, there are three things to consider.

1. Gastritis or hyperacidity where ranitidine is likely to be helpful.
2. Worm infestation where Bandy will be effective.
3. Small intestinal infection. Small intestine is located centrally in the abdomen whereas the colon is located in the periphery. Metronidazole is effective in case of colonic infections but not small intestinal infection. So unless you have already started Metrogyl, I would say it is not required. But if you have already started it, I insist that you complete the course. If cyclopam is not effective, you can give Syrup Decolic 5 ml as per required. Unless associated with bloody stools, antibiotics are generally not required.

I do not think there is much to worry about. Give plenty of curd. Give the child small but frequent meals. Give a fibre rich diet. I think it should soon be fine.
