Suggest Treatment For Stomach Pain In Children
Question: My daughter, 4 years, 9 months old, is complaining stomachache in the night (4:30 am) for some time now. What first aid can I give to her? It is paining to a bit (her) right side of belly button.

This type of stomach pain in children is quite common in children and is mostly associated with stomach infection or stomach bugs.
Dont worry.
As first aid, you can give her lots of clear fluid to take as dehydration is commonly seen; also avoiding fatty or spicy food is important.
Give her bland food for few days.
For now, if you have any anti spasmodic medicine like dicyclomine etc, you can give it to her either in tablet or syrup form.
In coming morning, if symptoms persist, it would be advisable to get her seen by your paediatrician. Also, if there is associated fever, vomiting etc, other probable causes should be ruled out too.
Also, to treat stomach bugs which is very common in children, a dose of albendazole will be helpful.
