Question: Yes, my husband 9a teacher) has antibotics for strep throat symptoms. Now I have simialr sympotnts.

Thanks for posting the query

Streptococcal throat infection is confirmed by pathological investigations (through throat swab culture). Till then it is considered as viral infection of the throat.

Initially, you can start with simple medications such as OTC pain relievers (Diclofenac or Ibuprofen), povidone iodine throat spray or gargles and paracetamol if fever is present. Drink plenty of warm water; Avoid chilled food and beverages/coffee/oily food/smoking if any.

If the symptoms do not reduce in 3-4 days, please consult your doctor.
