Suggest Treatment For Suicidal Thoughts While Having Schizophrenia

Good afternoon. Do you have any experience dealing with schizophrenics. My neighbor is a 35 year
old male that typical and atypical antipsychotics have proven ineffective. Laturda 40mg is the last thing
he was given by an ARNP. He talks about suicide daily. XXXXXXX State will not pay for him to see a
real psychiatrist. The last psychiatrist that is now not practicing due to health concerns had him on amphetamine salts 120mg/day. He actually did real well. The voices were there but he could deal with them
The ARNP is afraid of diversion and apparently unconcerned with this guy killing himself. i need help. Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.
I have several years of experience treating schizophrenics. Anyone who is talking about suicide daily needs to be taken to an ER immediately. You need to call 911 to seek emergency treatment. Hearing voices combined with suicidality places him at high risk for completing suicide. This is an emergency. Call 911.
