Question: I received a bruse on a varicose vain about a month ago. the vain became hard and soar. It still hurts, is this something I need to worry about?

There is no need to be worried since this is probably just a superficial thrombophlebitis and this is treated with cold compresses,heparin gel and elastic stockings. Also,avoid long standing and try to walk as much as possible. if there is no improvement,then you should do Doppler ultrasound to rule out deep vein thrombosis. Wish you good health. Regards
