default
Posted on Thu, 7 May 2015
Question: I have what I believe is razor bump but it is slightly swollen only on one side of my female region when I wipe after using the bathroom I almost always hit it and it hurts I'm just curious as to if it is razor bump or not cause it's under a few hair follicles and had tiny tiny bumps where the hair comes out on top of the swollen area. I get it in the same spot usually and I don't know what to do about it

Brief Answer:
Upload a picture of the area/lesion , if possible

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

The lesions you described can be due to a razor injury. The area involved can lead to a superimposed bacterial infection especially if antiseptic measures aren't taken and adequate hygiene is not maintained. If the swelling does not subside with local cleansing and local antibiotics then systemic therapy with amoxicillin- clavulanate would be required. These measures are described based on your description and don't substitute for a physical examination of the area. If appropriate, You may upload a good quality picture of the lesions to have a better idea.

wishing you best of health

thanks
