Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Pain On Knees

Question: A day or so ago I asked about my knee and received a reasonable answer however since then I have been to the orthopedic surgeon who ordered an mri on the 30th but my knee has swollen even more is really stiff hurts really bad I have pain meds but when I called my Dr today he says if it's lumpy swollen and hurt behind my knee on the inside of my leg I should go to the er but they will just give me pain meds and send me home so my question is can I just stay home till the 30th five days for the mri take pain meds ice it compress it and put voltaren gel on it I should make it ok right? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Brief Answer: Yes, follow symptomatic treatment Detailed Answer: Hi, I have read your query. Yes, you can just stay home till the 30th five days for the MRI scan. Take painkiller like 1 tab aceclofenac+thiocolchicoside three times a day, tablet lornoxicam 8 mg two times a day, tab. serratiopeptidase three times a day. You can also apply voltaren ointment which you are using already. Apply ice packs for one more day then hot packs for four days. Apply compression bandage through the day and night to prevent further swelling. Always kept you affected limb in higher position and not in dependent position e.g you can put pillow under your leg while sleeping and place leg on front chair while sitting. One thing you must follow is that you should try to avoid squatting, upstairs and running even if pain subsides. I hope it helps. You are welcome to ask further health related queries.
