Question: Both of my feet have exactly the same symptoms - swelling ,rash around the ankle. moderate pain and extreme dryness of the skin. I have tried everything - compression hose to diuretics and all in between!
Elevation seems to make them worse. Moving around helps.

Brief Answer:
You should be investigated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
When there is swelling of both lower Limbs, kidney disease, liver disease and heart disease have to be excluded.
So,you should get your Serum creatinine for kidney, Liver function tests and Ultrasound abdomen for liver disease and ECG and Echo cardiogram for Heart.
If these are normal, then you should get an Ultrasound of both lower Limbs. The features that you have mentioned can be due to Cellulitis, infection of skin and subcutaneous tissue.
If there is no Cellulitis, then it could be due to hypoproteinemia related to age.
Please don't try diuretics without doctor consultation.
Please consult your doctor and get investigated.
Hope I answered your query.
If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
