Brief Answer:
Please meet a dentist

Detailed Answer:
Hello

The most common swelling in the region you have described is a nodular swelling and the most common cause for which is a scalp infection or dental caries or an ear infection.

Most of these will subside by themselves and need no treatment except for dental caries for which you have to meet a dentist.

if the swelling does not subside then I would normally start my patients on antibiotics like amoxicillin 500 mg for 7 days.

please discuss this with your doctor and dentist.

Take care

Brief Answer:
There are lymph nodes in the parotid gland

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Although I cannot outrightly deny that the swelling can also be from the parotid but you must remember that the glands itself has lot of lymph nodes above and inside it. Most of the times only these enlarge.

You can request your doctor to order for an ultrasound examination of the region and clarify your doubt

Take care!

Brief Answer:
Please take the antibiotic

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Your can take the antibiotic and wait for a few days for the swelling to subside.

You have become very anxious and I would strongly advice you to not to keep touching the swelling.

If you are still worried then you can talk to your doctor and get the ultra sound scan done.

Please don't worry!! you will be fine!!

Take care
